Wagering on horses can be a fun and profitable way to spend an afternoon. This blog will be dedicated to betting on races where one or more of the horses is "live" based on a profitable trainer angle every day pattern.
No trainer worth his salt would waste a sharp ready to win horse in a race he cannot win. Trainer angles expose a trainers specialty or expertise in setting up a sharp horse for a win. Examples of Common Trainer Angles are, "First Race After a Claim", "Change of Distance", Change of Surface, Change of Track, etc.....
Each day I will look at races where a trainer has entered a horse at a condition or circumstance where the trainer has experienced past success. These horses are featured every day on Twinspires. Twinspires is on line horse betting web site that offers lots of free handicapping information to its members. Joining is free and the site is always running fun promotions. You can become a member for free by Clicking Here.
In the course of posting and wagering on these situations I will look at the trainers specialty to see how it applied to the race in question. I will also measure the day's results testing the theory that we can be successful wagering on these opportunities every day. Since it is not practicable to bet every race track I will select races from 4 different race tracks every day. This should produce enough opportunities every day to produce a valid sample size.
While I will look and measure every opportunity experience has taught me to focus on opportunities where the horse's final odds were 5 to 1 or higher.
November 10th Entries and Results
The first column is the selected race track. Today's selections are from Aqueduct, PARX, Finger Lakes, and Zia Park. Not usually many tracks on Monday......Aqueduct's card was special "Veterans Day" card as Aqueduct does not usually run on Mondays.
Next comes Race and Program number followed by the Off odds. All financial results are based on a $2.00 wager.
Today's card produced 11 betting opportunities that went off at 5 to 1 or greater. Both winners came from Zia Park. In Race # 8, horse #4 Relentless Slew, trained by Greg Green, and ridden by Miguel Perez, led at every call at 11 to 1 and returned $24.80 to win and $6.20 to place.
Below is the free Twinspire TV wagering tool for Zia Park race # 8. Note the "A" beside the number 4 horse, signifying Relentless Slew's trainer, Greg Green has won a large number of races under the same conditions as Relentless Slew find himself in today.
On the day there 2 winning races based on trainer angles for an 18% win rate and a $21.30 profit based on a $2.00 wager.
